Digital Canvas was founded by two graphic illustrators from Fogarty Klein Monroe Advertising and Marketing. Jay Gillespie and Vincent Tran served as the agency's in-house illustration, storyboarding, photo-retouching, and graphic studio. In 2000, the pair realized the opportunity and the need for a creative services company that could provide their niche services to all agencies in Houston.
As a small startup in the middle of the Dot com bust, Digital Canvas thrived by providing consulting services to ad agencies and reached out to small and mid-size dbusinesses that sought out agency level design at non-agency prices. The company grew to incorporate other aspects of graphic services beyond illustration to include web design, programming and flash animation. Today, Digital Canvas is an industry recognized and award winning studio of designer and illustrators that simply believe great ideas deserve great art.
